Introduction to Ice Skating for Hockey
Taught By: Waukesha County Park System Staff
Designed For: First-time skaters with little to no experience
Prerequisite: None
Ages: 4 to 15
Next Session Begins: Monday, July 14, 2025
Classes Held: Mondays, 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $75.00 for a 5-week session
Learn to Play Hockey for Kids
Taught By: Waukesha County Park System Staff
Designed For: Skaters who have completed a learn-to-skate class and are interested in hockey
Prerequisite: Completion of a learn-to-skate class
Ages: 4 to 15
Next Session Begins: Monday, July 14, 2025
Classes Held: Mondays, 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Learn to Skate

Wednesday's 5:30 - 6:00pm 4-6 year olds
Wednesday's 6:00 - 6:30pm 7-12 year olds
Learn to Skate: 5 weeks. Focuses on basic skating skills needed to play hockey. Pucks and sticks are not used.

5 weeks - Must have taken a learn to skate class to participate. Introduces the basics of hockey. Stickhandling, shooting, passing, and game play are taught.

WCYHA, founded in 1974, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of youth hockey and run by dedicated volunteers. We are an affiliate of USA Hockey and the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association. We currently serve children in a defined territory, determined by WAHA, in the following school districts: Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, portions of New Berlin (New Berlin West High School boundary), Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, and Waukesha (except Town of Brookfield).
