2023 Waukesha and LCW Kohlman Cup Skaters

Congratulations to our current Waukesha Warhawk and LCW skaters on their selections to the 2023 WAHA Region 5 Kohlman Cup team:

Waukesha Warhawks:

Congratulations to the following Warhawk Teams and LCW Co-op Girls teams on their outstanding showings  at their respective WAHA State Championships:

State Champions: U12 C1 and U12 C2 Warbirds

Runner Up: U12 A and 10U A Lake Country Warhawks Girls Co-op

Third Place: U12 B and U12 A Lake Country Warhawks Girls Co-op.

Consolation Champions: U12 C2 Icehawks.

Eble Stick-and-Puck Info:

Eble Park Ice Arena is adding more stick-and-puck sessions this Spring!

All ages are welcome, however, players under the age of 13 must have a supervising adult at the arena. Adult hockey players are to practice on the east (scoreboard) side of the rink. Youth hockey players (and supervising adults) are to practice on the west side of the rink. No pick-up games, organized practices, or private coaching instruction are allowed during these sessions.

WCYHA provides several unique offerings for its younger players and girls program.

 

Eble Ice Arena hockey learn to skate Registration is open
 

This 5-week program is for new skaters who have little to no skating experience. This program will primarily focus on developing skating abilities.

Free skate rental is available during all classes. However, we recommend skaters bring their own.

Equipment Required:

  • Hockey skates (free rental available for duration of program)
  • Hockey helmet w/facemask
  • Elbow & shin pads
  • Hockey gloves

Equipment Recommended but not Required 

  • Breezers/hockey pants
  • Shoulder pads
  • Mouth and neck guard
  • Athletic supporter with cup

Hockey jersey will be provided at 1st class

 

Spring Sessions:

  • The spring sessions will run for 5 weeks  on Thursdays from 6:15pm – 6:45pm – Cost $85
  • Spring Session 1 - Thursdays, March 16th - April 13th
  • Spring Session 2 - Thursdays, April 20th - May 18th

Summer Sessions

  • The summer sessions will run for 5 weeks  on Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 5:00pm – Cost $85
  • Summer Session 1 - Wednesday, August 2nd - August 30th

EBLE LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY REGISTRATION IS OPEN

This 5-week program is for skaters who have completed "Eble Learn to Play Hockey: Class #1 - Skating Focus" or another learn to skate program.

Using the skating skills developed in the previous program, players will add sticks and pucks to start learning the basic fundamental skills needed to join a youth hockey league

Equipment Required:

  • Hockey skates(free rental available for duration of program)
  • Hockey helmet w/facemask
  • Elbow & shin pads
  • Hockey gloves
  • Hockey stick

Equipment Recommended but not Required 

  • Breezers/hockey pants
  • Shoulder pads
  • Mouth and neck guard
  • Athletic supporter with cup

Cost $75

Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:00pm 4-8 year olds

Hockey Learn to Skate (5 weeks. Focuses on basic skating skills needed to play hockey. Pucks and sticks are not used.

  • Spring: February 8th - March 8th
  • Summer: May 31st - June 28th
  • Summer: July 12th - August 9th

Wednesdays 6pm - 6:30pm 4-11 year olds

5 weeks in the Summer - Must have taken a learn to skate class to participate. Introduces the basics of hockey. Stickhandling, shooting, passing, and game play are taught.

Equipment Requirements 

  • Helmet with Facemask
  • Hockey Skates – but Free Rentals will be available at all lessons
  • Hockey shinguards
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves or mittens

 

  • Session 1: May 31st - June 28th, 2023
  • Session 2: July 12th - August 9th, 2023

Waukesha County Youth Hockey Association

WCYHA, founded in 1974, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of youth hockey and run by dedicated volunteers. We are an affiliate of USA Hockey and the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association. We currently serve children in a defined territory, determined by WAHA, in the following school districts: Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, portions of New Berlin (New Berlin West High School boundary), Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, and Waukesha (except Town of Brookfield). Please contact the VP Off-Ice with any questions about territorial eligibility.
